Founder | Former Captain | Creator of Port Pro
Klaas Snip grew up in inland shipping, developing a strong connection with the water from a young age.
At just 17, he transitioned to seafaring, where he built his maritime career and eventually became a captain.
With years of hands-on experience, he understands onboard challenges like no other.
That experience led to the creation of Port Pro — a smart solution designed to simplify onboard administration and help officers work more efficiently.
2018 — Where It All Began
Nautische Dienst was founded in June 2018 alongside the development of Port Pro.
The mission was clear:
Make onboard work simpler, faster, and more efficient for officers.

2021 — Going Global
What started as a solution for European ports quickly expanded into a global platform.
The maritime industry made one thing clear: Port Pro needed to work worldwide.
Development began in 2021, and by January 2023, the global version was successfully launched — enabling ships around the world to benefit from the system.
October 2023 — First Contact with Datema
Port Pro was presented onboard a vessel, where it caught the attention of Datema — marking the start of a promising relationship.
August 4, 2024 — Official Founding
Following rapid developments and productive discussions at Datema’s office, Nautische Dienst was officially established.
October 29, 2024 — Partnership with Datema
After extensive collaboration, the partnership was formalized with a signed agreement.
This marked a key milestone in the company’s growth.
November 2024 — Next-Generation Port Pro
Development began on a new version of Port Pro.
With a modern interface and enhanced functionality, the software is becoming even more user-friendly and efficient — fully aligned with real onboard operations.
January 1, 2025 — Integration with Chartplanner-5
Port Pro was integrated into Datema’s Chartplanner-5, combining navigation and administration into one powerful platform.
January 2026 — 100+ Ships and Growing
Over 100 vessels are now actively using Port Pro.
A strong confirmation of the software’s reliability and value in the maritime industry.
